Before Palm Beach, she hand-painted silk for New York fashion designers — including Mary McFadden — and cofounded "Gossamer Wing," which launched a hand-painted fabric-and-clothing trend into the fashion world. That background in fabric and color still shows: her work moves fluidly from bold abstraction to realism, on canvas, walls, and tile. She has completed residential, commercial, and public commissions, including a large-scale outdoor mural in downtown Stuart, FL, and an original painting placed in a Southern Home–featured Jupiter, FL residence. Her work has been covered by Palm Beach Daily News, WPB Magazine, and FENIX360, and is represented online through Global Fine Art and Wescover.
"Color and risk drive my process."
I paint intuitively, working in mixed media and found materials from nature and daily life, and letting each piece evolve without a fixed plan. I draw on Milton Avery's simplicity of shape and color and Jean-Michel Basquiat's expressive freedom, and I move fluidly between bold abstraction and realism depending on what a space or client calls for.

What strikes me most as an illustrator is Maureen's range — she moves fluidly between abstraction and realism, across canvas, mural, and tile, and every direction she takes a project is technically confident and fully resolved.”

Maureen's murals are simply beautiful — every one I've seen completely transforms a room.”

I have three of Maureen's murals in my bathrooms, including a playful monkey scene guests still talk about. They've completely transformed the spaces and added real value to my rental property — I'm already planning her next mural for my living room.”
